Andre McClymont, 19, of Peartree Way, Greenwich charged with wounding with intent after stabbing in Prince Arthur's Park, Gillingham in July

A teenager has been charged with wounding with intent after a 17-year-old was stabbed in a park in Gillingham.

Andre McClymont, 19, of Peartree Way, Greenwich, has also been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, dangerous driving, possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of heroin.

A 17-year-old boy from London was arrested on Thursday, July 28, in connection with an incident on Wednesday, July 27, when a 17-year-old boy was found in Gillingham High Street with serious stab injuries.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested on August 3 in connection with the stabbing. The 17-year-old boy was at Prince Arthur’s Park, Mill Road, when the incident took place.

He was taken to King’s College Hospital in London with stomach wounds. Police cordoned off the park and six police cars and a riot van were also spotted.

The 17-year-old boy and 20-year-old man have now been released without charge.

McClymont has been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, December 13.
