Princess Diana charity ambassador turned rapper James Okulaja films music video in Creams, Chatham Dockside

Most 16-year-olds take a break during the summer holidays after the long slog of GCSE exams.

But aspiring rapper James Okulaja penned a song and filmed a music video in popular ice cream parlour Creams, in Chatham Dockside.

James, who goes by Oktave when rapping, has written a song called Oso Saucy, which is about rising above bullies and haters.

He managed to bag a sponsorship deal from the desert restaurant, which closed its doors to customers so James could film his music video inside.

James and his friends danced in the shop, and were provided with sauce-covered sundaes to make sure his video was oh so saucy.

The Rainham Mark Grammar student is an anti-bullying ambassador for the charity The Diana Award.

The group, set up as a legacy to Princess Diana, trains young people to help those experiencing bullying in and out of the classroom.

After James received his training he tries to make sure he helps as many pupils as possible overcome bullying.

His new song also has an anti bullying message.

James said: "It's just about blocking out the haters and doing well.

"As an anti bullying ambassador I always tell people the best way to beat bullies is to be successful."

This is demonstrated in one of his rap bars, "These haters used to get to me, now they're writing cheques for me."

James has already had some recognition for his tune, which is available to stream on Apple Music, Youtube, SoundCloud and Spotify.

He said: "I've had some messages from celebrities saying they like the song.

"Danny-Boy Hatchard who played Lee Carter in EastEnders and is now in Our Girl, really liked the song.

"Then James McVey from band the Vamps and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, gave me a shout out and linked to the song on his Instagram story.

"The song nearly has 12,000 hits and that's just so exciting."
