Teenage boy taken to hospital after serious crash on Ingram Road, Gillingham

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene of a crash between a red Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian in Ingram Road, Gillingham.

The incident took place last night at around 9.05pm and a teenage boy sustained serious injuries.

An air ambulance attended and the boy was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition. His next of kin are aware.

A spokesman for the Air Ambulance Charity said: "A helicopter attended a male patient involved in an RTC in Gillingham on December 28 2021.

"Our crew arrived on scene at 9.55pm where they worked with SECAmb to help treat the patient who was taken to hospital by aircraft.”

Officers are investigating the circumstances and spoke with the driver, and potential witnesses, at the scene.

As part of continuing inquiries, they are appealing for anyone else with information, or privately held video such as dashcam or CCTV, to get in contact.
