The investigation, by the force’s Operation Jupiter team, led officers to search his property where they found a number of sealed bags of weed and individual wraps of crack and heroin.

Police also found a set of scales, two mobile phones and some clear clip seal bags, which are used for weed deals.

Balogun, who was out when officers searched his home was arrested in Canterbury later the same day.

Upon his arrest he was searched and officers found two more phones and a number of sim cards on him.

Investigating officer, PC James Cowden, said: “Balogun’s actions had the potential to harm a number of people should they have consumed the drugs he was hoping to supply.

“Throughout the case he denied his actions and I’m pleased he has received a lengthy sentence and I hope he takes the time in jail to reflect on this crime.”

Operation Jupiter is part of a local strategy designed to tackle emerging criminal gangs, whose members often travel into the county from other areas.

The strategy includes taking robust action to deter criminals in areas including Medway, Swale, Gravesham and Dartford, often in connection with the sale and distribution of drugs.
