Medway Council teamed up with kmfm to begin its switch ons in Strood on November 18, with the mayor and Cocomelon star JJ.

This was followed by switch ons in Chatham, Gillingham, and Rochester.

The final event will take place at the Rainham precinct with entertainment starting at 3.45pm.

Children will be able to meet Paddington at the Rainham Library, from 2pm.

Booking is essential and can be done by calling 01634 337799.

kmfm are encouraging residents to bring their family along to the event and meet some of your favourite TV characters with festive fun, live music, dancers and competitions on display.

Previous guests from the switch-ons include kid's favourite Bluey and Bingo and Snow White.

The Dickensian Christmas Festival will also be taking place this weekend in Rochester on Saturday and Sunday while the town's Christmas market – the largest in Kent – continues.

The event is set to transform the historic town into a Victorian market for the weekend.

The Christmas light switch-ons are with Medway Council and Specsavers' Medway stores.
