Train delays after vehicle hits bridge in Rochester

Train passengers suffered delays after a vehicle hit a bridge at Rochester.

Network Rail staff had to be brought in to inspect the damage following the crash, which happened at around 7.10pm.

Southeastern said trains continued to run through the station, but at reduced speeds.

The accident has also been causing delays on the A2 London Road between Gun Lane to Northcote Road.

The rail operator confirmed services returned to normal at 8.40pm.
