Four young boys have been rescued today after they were trapped in mud as the tide advanced on them.

Firefighters were called to Knight Road in Rochester at 2.30pm after the boys, understood to be teenagers, found themselves stuck near the River Medway.

Crews were able to rescue the group before leaving them in the care of the paramedics over fears they could suffer from hypothermia.
