Gillingham woman in court after mugging an elderly man in Kingswood Road

A woman, who allegedly shoved an elderly man to the floor and grabbed cash from his wallet, will appear at crown court.

The mugging happened at 5am on Thursday, September 19 in Kingswood Road, Gillingham.

Police were told a woman pushed a man in his 70s to the floor and stole cash from his wallet.

Officers arrested Chloe Downey, of Skinner Street, Gillingham on Tuesday, September 24 and she was charged with robbery later the same day.

The 29-year-old was remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

At the hearing she was further remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, October 23.
