Brighton & Hove Albion defender Adam Chicksen agrees to stay at Gillingham for another month

Gillingham have extended the loan of Brighton defender Adam Chicksen for another month.

The 24-year-old defender has made four appearances for the club since returning for his second loan spell at the Gills.

Last weekend he filled in at right-back to cover for the injured Ryan Jackson.

With defensive numbers at the club still light, Gills boss Justin Edinburgh was keen to extend the loan of Chicksen for another month.

Edinburgh said: “We are pleased to have him here for another month.

“I thought he was excellent against Oldham and when he came on against Barnsley.

“It gives us reinforcements to a back-line which is pretty bare at the moment.”

Edinburgh will also look to conclude the loan deal for Cardiff defender Deji Oshilaja before the weekend.
