Invicta Dynamos forward Joshua Condren has been released after their game against Streatham was abandoned after trouble on the ice

Invicta Dynamos have announced that one of their payers has left the club following the trouble at Streatham.

Tempers flared after a rough first period and images of scuffles on the ice were shared across social media. The Dynamos said they were unwilling to play on due to fears over player safety and the game was abandoned.

More: Head coach reaction after game abandoned

The Dynamos stated on Tuesday that their forward Josh Condren had been released.

The Mos said: “In light of Saturday’s events the club has discussed in depth our own involvement in the incident.

“Whilst we feel that Josh Condren’s reaction wasn’t without provocation, we cannot condone the raising of a stick to any player.

“This goes against our code of conduct as a club and as such had to be dealt with accordingly. We therefore have decided to release Josh from his time with the Invicta Dynamos.

“We see this as an isolated incident that was out of character and are grateful to Josh for his past contributions to the club.”

Condren first joined Invicta in 2015 and was having a solid season in his 15 games played this term, scoring five goals and assisting 10.

Head coach Karl Lennon had earlier accepted his own team’s part in the trouble at Streatham and the club are working with the league following the abandonment and awaiting any possible punishment.

Lennon said: “My concern ultimately was the safety of players, not just from Invicta, but from both sides.

“We will own our part of it absolutely, it was a real dampener on our sport if I am honest. I felt it was wholly unprofessional and wholly unacceptable.”
