Gillingham's Emmanuel Osadebe is confident the team will stop giving away leads

Emmanuel Osadebe knows Gillingham need to work on being more ruthless.

The Gills have wasted good leads on many occasions this season and it happened again at Oldham.

Gillingham were a goal ahead but lost 2-1.

Midfielder Osadebe knows it needs to stop. He said: “We felt we should have won the game but the second half let us down.

“It was a brilliant goal (from Doug Loft) and that should have given us the boost to finish the game strong.

“From now on, anytime we go into the lead, we need to be ruthless, or be more demanding, to take charge and finish the game strong. It is something we need to work on.

“It is something we need to put right.”

The 19-year-old has only recently won his place back in the side, starting the last two games.

He

joined the Gills in the summer

having previously played college football.

He said: “The result is disappointing but from a personal note it is good to be back in the squad. I just want to give my best.

“It’s been a dream come true and this is my first ever year as a pro. It has been exciting.”
