Gillingham assistant manager David Kerslake says forward Elliott List will get more chances to make an impact this season

Elliott List has a role to play for Gillingham before the end of the season.

That’s the verdict of Gills assistant boss David Kerslake after the 18-year-old’s latest cameo appearance.

List made his third substitute appearance against Peterborough on Saturday and had a penalty appeal turned down.

Kerslake believes he will stay with the first-team squad rather than head out on loan for a month to get regular first-team action.

“Elliott has been doing fantastically well in training,” said Kerslake.

“He is razor sharp, has an eye for goal and is a tenacious little thing. He is brave and could be a nice little find for us. We’ve pushed him forward.

“He looks too good in training (to go out on loan) and when he comes on, he has caused problems.”
