Lordswood manager Richard Styles targets three points against Punjab United

Richard Styles believes Lordswood should be winning games against teams like Punjab United.

Lords face the newly-promoted side on Saturday in the Southern Counties East, Premier Division.

Punjab have enjoyed successive promotions to reach the Premier Division from the Kent County League and have taken five points from their first four games.

Styles also wants to see an improvement from his side after mistakes led to goals against Cray Valley last weekend.

Styles said: “They are a decent side that works hard for each other. They have a team that has been together for a long time.

“It’s a winnable game for us and we need to be targeting these sort of games to pick up three points in.We have to be better on the day and stop the mistakes. If we do that, we will not have problems at all.

“Teams will drop points against other teams in this league but we have to make sure we learn from those games.”

Lordswood will be the only team playing a league match on Saturday and Styles believes it is a good chance to put pressure on other sides.

Styles said: “The teams that play in the FA Cup will have to make up their games in midweek and could then struggle with availability. It’s a great opportunity for us to put some pressure on other teams.”
