LEARN MOREHolcombe have appointed Barry Middleton as their new director of hockey.
The 37-year-old won 432 international caps and scored 119 goals during a glittering career. He featured in four Olympic games, four World Cups and four Commonwealth Games.
Middleton will continue to play for Holcombe and is still part of the coaching set-up with the England under-21 side.
Holcombe president David South said: "Barry's all round experience, unprecedented number of GB and England international caps and general all round hockey expertise makes him the ideal person to take this role.
"The club are very excited about the input Barry can bring to our further planned progression, and he takes up his role with immediate effect."
