The match officials came under fire for their time-keeping during Gillingham's defeat to Ipswich on Saturday.
Gills boss Steve Evans questioned how they only awarded four minutes of stoppage time at the end of the match.
“There were key factors that were disappointing,” said Evans, who admitted his team should have taken their chances against the new leaders.
“We won a free-kick and the referee (Christopher Sarginson) blows for time.
“He’s added four minutes, but there were five substitutions second half, mandatory 30 seconds for each.
“He has warned the goalkeeper three times for time wasting, he has warned the left-back for time wasting and I will ask the referee about it.
“There should have been more minutes. It takes a second to score a goal, not a minute.
“We get the feeling had it been at Portman Road (Ipswich’s home ground) they might have added a bit more, that’s the feeling I get.”
