Biketart officially launch the 2017 KM Big Bike Ride, staged at Betteshanger Park, near Deal on Sunday, April 30, 2017

The wheels are spinning and the gears are shifting as the 2017 KM Big Bike Ride is officially launched.

Organised by the KM Group’s charitable division, the challenge event raises thousands of pounds for good causes every year and has become one of the most popular events.

Event key partners Biketart are saddling up for the action-packed day staged at Betteshanger Park, near Deal next April, and they are calling for participants to secure their place early.

Ryan Shaw of Biketart, said: “We are thrilled and honoured to be supporting the KM Big Bike Ride which has become one of the flagship cycling events in the annual sportive calendar. Riders have the option of two routes, and can either ride for fun, or help to raise vital funds for their favourite charity.”

Taking place on Sunday, April 30, 2017, riders have the option of a 50K country or 100K coastal route which will span some of the county’s most beautiful scenery.

Both routes start and conclude at Betteshanger in which all riders will receive a limited edition medal upon completion. Sportive photographs are also available to all. Refuelling stations will be located throughout both rides for those requiring additional drink and sustenance.

Events manager Lisa Craig of the KM Charity Team, said: “We are delighted to officially launch the KM Big Bike Ride for 2017. Last April, a huge £17,000 was raised by the 370 cyclists taking part, and we are certain that we can go even bigger and better next year. The KM Big Bike Ride is open to all, but children aged 12 – 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
