Bra run for charity

Another madcap bra run will make its way along the seafront from Deal Castle on New Year’s Day.

And charity race organiser Sally Scoggins, from Deal Tri Club, is appealing for a big turnout to help raise cash for Breast Cancer Care.

About 300 runners and walkers of all ages usually take part in the 5k race and, so far, the run has raised more than £15,000 for the charity.

Mrs Scoggins said: “Deal Tri Club is thrilled to be part of this great event in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

“We decided to support this particular charity as we feel it is close to many people’s hearts.

“Each one of us knows someone who has struggled with this disease.

“In the past years the feedback has been fantastic and everyone enjoys dressing up in the decorated bras, both men and women.

“Children come in fancy dress and there are spot prizes donated by local businesses.

“It’s great to see the spectacle of runners and walkers alike all out on New Year’s Day supporting this cause.”

n The run starts at noon and entry forms are available from www.dealtri.co.uk or by calling 01304 371587. You can enter the race right up until the day.
