Kent Sport has teamed up with the KM Group's charity department to celebrate the University of Kent’s 50 birthday and issue a challenge to the county's brainiacs.
The university’s sports centre – Kent Sport – is urging quiz fans to book now and have 50 teams in place for the KM Big Charity Quiz next month. The sports venue will be hosting the popular wine and wisdom style event, organised by the KM Charity Team, on Friday, April 24.
Ben Trott of Kent Sport said: “We are delighted to be supporting the KM Big Quiz as a main sponsor for 2015. This is one of many ways in which we engage with the local community through sport, physical activity and recreation.
“This year’s event promises to be one of the best yet with great prizes all in aid of deserving local charities.”
Other businesses backing the Big Quiz include MHA MacIntyre Hudson, Shepherd Neame and Barclays bank.
Event organiser Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team said: “Help us to reach the magic number of 50 teams to mark the university’s milestone birthday while making a real difference to charity.”
A table for up to eight costs £65 but there’s a £10 discount with the booking code CABQEB15. Participants will receive a drink on arrival, ploughman’s meal, and entry into a PO Ferries voucher prize draw.
One quiz-goer will be invited to the stage to answer an on the spot quiz question worth £100 in cash.
Proceeds raised will go to the homelessness charity Catching Lives, the Kent and Canterbury Hospital’s League of Friends, and road safety services for children. For more information or to book, visit www.kmbigquiz.co.uk.
