The KM Media Group’s newspaper editors are looking for good causes to champion as partner charities for 2020.

With just over a month left in which to submit KM Charity of the Year applications, KM Media Group chairman Geraldine Allinson said the organisation was delighted to be in a position to use its resources to help voluntary sector groups in Kent and Medway.

She added: “There are so many wonderful charities providing amazing services to communities across Kent and Medway.

“But in a very crowded sector – and with so many other claims on people's attention – it can be extremely difficult for good causes to get their key messages across.

“So it’s a real pleasure for all of us at KM Media Group, and especially our editorial team, to use our skills and experience to support the good work done by the charities we select each year.”

The editors of the KM Media Group’s 10 main papers will each choose a good cause to champion in their pages, and the digital and broadcast services KMTV, kmfm and KentOnline will select one between them.

Kent Online has more than 2 million browsers every month, while kmfm has 230,000 weekly listeners.

The selected cause will also be supported by the KM Charity Team via its collaborative fundraising events, which include the KM Big Bike Ride, the KM Colour Run and abseils.

And all good causes that submit Charity of the Year applications will also be eligible for KM Charity Team Charity Mark status, which they will then be able to display in all their communications resources.

The deadline for submitting applications is October 27, and Charity of the Year status runs for the calendar year – from January to December.
