Organised by the Charity Team, the quiz takes place at the George Hotel in Chatham on Friday, March 6.

The event will raise money for Gravesend and Dartford Messenger charity of the year the YMCA, Medway Messenger charity partner, baby-loss support organisation Abigail's Footsteps, and the KM Charity Team's work promoting literacy and green travel in schools.

Once again, there will be a fundraising bar stocked by Shepherd Neame.

Contestants will also have the chance to win a Hornby gift set and a special DFDS voucher in a fundraising raffle. The DFDS voucher will enable up to nine people with one vehicle to enjoy a free return Channel crossing.

And there will be special prizes for the top teams of any organisation booking a minimum of three tables, the health and care sector, and local government and schools.

In addition, the top four teams will qualify for the Big Quiz county final at the end of the year. And £5 of the cost of reserving each team table will go into a pot of prize money to be shared by the winners.

Event organiser Hannah Hawksworth said: “With less than two months to go until the Medway quiz takes place, I would urge people to book their tables as soon as possible so as to ensure they don’t miss out.

“Besides being a fun-filled and exciting night out, this year’s event is raising much-needed funds for two fantastic charities.

“The YMCA provides a range of invaluable services for young people across the county, including supported housing, youth clubs and education and training.

“And Abigail’s Footsteps does such amazing work helping people rebuild their lives after experiencing the unimaginable trauma of losing a baby.”

Last year’s Medway quiz raised £6,000, with the lion’s share of the money going to the Medway Messenger’s 2019 charity of the year, Chatham-based Net Community Hub.

Besides Shepherd Neame and Hornby, the quiz is also supported by Specsavers, Office Angels and IMP Studio & Live.

Tables for teams of up to eight people cost £65. See www.kmcharityteam.co.uk/challenge/bigquiz for bookings and information.
