Benefit from energy-saving home improvements

Sponsored Editorial

It’s certainly starting to feel like winter. The woolly jumpers are coming out and the heating is being switched on. But if your home is still cold and draughty, you may wonder just how energy efficient your home really is?

You may be eligible to benefit from a new funding scheme designed to tackle energy inefficient homes, helping you stay warm this winter, reduce your carbon footprint, and reduce energy usage.

.

Work will centre around raising the EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) ratings of homes, resulting in improved living conditions, warmer, cosier properties, reduced energy usage (with possible savings on utility bills) and generally more sustainable lifestyles.

Could you qualify and benefit from the scheme? The funding is available to households struggling to heat their homes –those who are on a low income (less than £30,000 per year) and have low energy efficiency ratings (D to G). You can check your home’s EPC rating here.

So, what kind of energy upgrades are being offered? Depending on the type of property, the funding can be used for

  • Insulation and ventilation upgrades to keep your home comfortable in both the winter and summer and help cut your energy bills
  • An upgrade to a low-carbon heating system to cut your carbon emissions
  • Heating controls, which help save you money because you only use the heat when you need it
  • An energy-efficient hot water solution, keeping your water warm for longer
  • Solar panels to generate free electricity and heat your water
  • Energy efficient lighting helping make it cheaper to run

Applications must be received before 31st December 2022. If a household meets the eligibility criteria, the next step will involve a home survey and assessment.
