Trusted, Innovative and Bold. These are just some of the core values of BAE Systems, one of the most exciting technology companies in the world – based right here in Kent.

BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems site in Rochester is one of Kent’s biggest employers, home to more than 1400 employees.

.

This year, BAE Systems has a number of exciting openings as the business grows for the future. Positions range from Production, Test and Quality Technicians, to Software, Hardware, and Systems Engineers, as well as professional roles in Human Resources, IT, and Commercial.

With some of the most advanced electronics and avionics equipment being designed, developed and produced at Rochester, you could find yourself working on anything from electric propulsion engines for buses, to flight controls for aircraft and Augmented Reality displays for pilots.

With its proven and successful positive working culture, where all employees come together to support the latest innovative technology, there is no better time to join BAE Systems – whether you are early on in your career, or a seasoned professional.

“Even after ten plus years here, I’m working on new technologies, while exploring exciting career opportunities in the business,” said Davesh Patel, Hardware Team Leader.

“Both technical and management paths are possible within Hardware Engineering, and you’re supported to transition and build your experience.”

.

Employees also praise the culture and emphasis on wellbeing at BAE Systems in Rochester.

Amy Ennion, Principal Systems Engineer, said: “The flexible hours allow me an excellent work-life balance. Plus, I’ve been supported to undertake a Complex Systems Engineering qualification, and have benefitted from three BAE Systems mentors.”

Greg Fenn, Software Engineer, added: “We have access to an excellent counselling service and Employee Assistance helpline. I also feel that the culture supports us to be ourselves at work.”

To give you a flavour of some of the innovative technology developed at BAE Systems, last month the Rochester site unveiled LiteWave®, its game-changing augmented reality (AR) display for pilots.

BAE Systems has been a world leader in the development of AR displays for over half a century. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the Rochester site led the way in the development of this technology, before the term ‘AR’ was even coined. Technology that might be considered science fiction to most is very much a reality at BAE Systems.
