Employment rises as supermarket grows

A SUPERMARKET is moving to larger premises - and creating 15 more jobs. The Co-Op store in Sevenoaks Road, Borough Green, is re-opening at a £1.25m unit in Station Approach.

Store manager Kate Newing says the 2,800sq ft store will bring to the village the type of shopping normally associated with towns.

She added: "We are doubling the number of jobs. It's important in a village like this because without local trade it will die. It's good to keep employment local."

The supermarket will include a cash point, access for disabled shoppers and more newspapers and magazines, alcohol, and fresh produce.
