Graduate placement scheme kick-starts careers

GRADUATES are being offered jobs after completing a university scheme which matched them to job placements.

Two marketing graduates from Canterbury Christ Church and a business studies graduate from Aston University landed jobs locally after successful three month placements on the College's Graduate Placement Scheme.

Jemima Locke and Renata McDonnell, graduates from Christ Church, and Sarah Curtis, an Aston graduate, are now working as account executives at The International Creative Agency (ICA), a sales promotion agency based in Canterbury.

Renata, who graduated in November with a degree in Information Technology and Marketing, said: "Joining the Graduate Placement Scheme has kick-started my career in marketing. I work on brand and retail marketing plans and sales promotion programmes for ICA, and it has been really useful to put the marketing theory learnt on my course into practice."

Managing Director of ICA John Farrier said: "I am delighted to be associated with the scheme. Christ Church University College has provided us with highly trained marketing graduates who have brought us real commercial benefits."

Any graduates looking for work who would like to join the scheme can contact John Hoyle, Graduate Placement Project Officer, on 01227 782531, or email jfh8@cant.ac.uk.
