Insurance firm to recruit extra staff

ABOUT 45 insurance jobs are coming into the heart of Maidstone - and more could be on the way.

The Towergate Underwriting Group is switching its operations from 20/20 estate in Allington to the new County Gate offices off Royal Engineers Way.

A spokeswoman said the growing firm would be recruiting more staff in the coming months.

Towergate has taken two floors in one of the two large offices and becomes the second tenant at the prominent complex. More than 50 Royal Bank of Scotland staff moved in earlier this year.

Around 45 Towergate employees will be moving in, probably after Christmas. The firm has taken 11,000 sq ft of space, an area large enough for up to 80 people.
