Jobs created at frozen food firm's new HQ

THREE brothers who founded a frozen food dynasty on soft ice cream are creating more than 20 jobs at their new £6m headquarters.

Paul, Peter and Trevor Clarke have turned Kent Frozen Foods - now known as KFF Food Service - into a £24m regional supplier of chilled and frozen foods employing 150 people and operating 40 delivery vans and lorries.

They came to Kent in 1960 when they saw an advert for the Mr Whippy ice cream concession. But they needed to keep their 50 ice cream vans on the road in winter and began selling frozen foods through three cash and carry outlets in Kent.

After more than 30 years in Bearsted, the family-owned company moves next summer to a new head office and distribution centre under construction at Priory Park, Aylesford.

Managing director Paul Clarke expects turnover to more than double over the next few years, adding that there were other "exciting projects in the pipeline."
