Jobs safe after huge warehouse blaze

WHIRLPOOL UK has confirmed there will be no job losses following the destruction of its warehouse in Paddock Wood, near Tunbridge Wells.

Marketing manager Ray Isted said: “We are working to get back to business as usual and all the employees will remain in place.”

In a further statement, Whirlpool UK said a team was working to assess the damage at the site, and the company was looking to find alternative local distribution centres. The statement added: “While we regret the damage to our property, we are pleased to report that there have been no injuries, as all personnel vacated the building quickly and responsibly.”
