Port Health Team Leader wanted for Sevington Inland Border in Ashford

There is currently an exciting job opportunity at the Sevington Inland Border Facility in Ashford.

Ashford Borough Council and Ashford Port Health are looking to hire a Port Health Team Leader and are offering a salary of £38,601 to £42,969 pa depending on skills and experience as well as 14% shift allowance for working on a 24-hour shift basis.

This new position, which has a closing date on Sunday 7 April, involves being responsible for Ashford Port Health staff carrying out checks and controls on imports of food to ensure that it is safe to eat before it enters the food chain.

The successful candidate will also be tasked with ensuring animal and public health is safeguarded and that there is compliance with relevant rules and standards.

Interested applicants must have a first degree, business administration, management qualification or equivalent experience, along with having:

- Relevant experience leading a team within a similar environment
- Provision of an operational and/or technical lead role within a team
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate well to others, communicate confidently with colleagues across the organisation and establish positive relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
