Transport firm creates fresh jobs

TWELVE new jobs will be created when a Sittingbourne company moves to new premises in the town.

International transport firm Carousel is currently in Bonham Drive on the Eurolink estate and is moving later this year to nearby Church Road.

The two acre brownfield site is due to be completed shortly and will be named Gateway Centre. The company received almost 100 entries in an employee competition to name the building.

Business development director, Mike Martin, said: "We made the final choice because it reflects exactly what we do as a business."

The chosen name was suggested by Logistics co-ordinator, Rob Thornhill, who was presented with £50 worth of Argos vouchers.

The new building includes offices and a warehouse of 27,500 sq ft.
