Campaigners against a traffic calming scheme are hoping a public exhibition will win support for alternative ideas.

They claim 'build-outs' along Heath Road, Coxheath, have caused accidents, forced drivers into the face of oncoming traffic, and even prompted some to speed up to get round the barriers before approaching vehicles.

The exhibition will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 27 and 28, in Coxheath village hall.

An action group will also be meeting in the village hall on Tuesday, March 24.

Campaigner Tony Monk said: “I don’t just want the build-outs removed – they need to be replaced with something sensible.

“You just have to make the build-outs smaller so you’ve still got two-way traffic. The traffic there still has to slow down.”
