Families who have bought an Easter hunt bag of chocolate eggs from a high street store are being asked not to eat them.

Card Factory is recalling its Happy Easter egg hunt bag over ingredients the sweets contain that have not been made clear on the label.

The card shop says the ingredients listed on the packaging of some products may have only been printed in Polish and as the egg bag contains peanuts, milk and soy - and may containing other nuts, cereal, eggs or gluten - it may pose a possible health risk to those with a specific allergy or intolerance.

The Food Standards Agency is asking any household with a bag of the golden eggs - that weighs 198g - to not eat the chocolate and instead return the packet for a full refund even if they no longer have the receipt.

Bags affected by the recall would have most likely been bought between February 24 and March 6 with a best before date of the end of January 2024.

A notice being posted in store aisles, warning customers of the risks, explains: "As a precautionary measure, please do not consume and return the product to a Card Factory store, where you will be given a full refund."

In an alert issued by the Food Standards Agency, Card Factory says it has also contacted the relevant allergy organisations and charities so that they too can contact members in order to spread the word.
