Tesco recalls Free From porridge over undeclared milk while M&S issues food alert over Thai chicken curry

A supermarket is recalling a range of its porridge over fears that undeclared milk may have made its way among the ingredients.

Tesco is asking shoppers who have bought golden syrup flavour porridge pots from its 'Free From' range to take them back to their nearest store.

The porridge pots, says the retailer, contain milk that is not mentioned on the label and so could pose a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or dairy intolerance.

Foods affected will have a best before date of September 1, 2023 and all customers will be entitled to a full refund if they can take the affected items back to their nearest Tesco store with or without a receipt.

Notices have also been places in supermarket aisles warning shoppers with any form of allergy not to eat the porridge.

Earlier this week M&S was forced to issue a warning over its Count on Us Thai style green chicken curry that the meal could contain shellfish by mistake.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a product recall alert for the pre-made meal over fears that crustaceans and/or molluscs have been added which could be a risk to anyone with an allergy.

Anyone who has bought the Thai curry product - which will have a use by date of January 22, 2023 - can take it back to their nearest M&S for a full refund.
