Fire crews tackle shed blaze in Queensway, Lydd, on Romney Marsh

Firefighters spent almost an hour tackling a shed blaze in which the flames spread to a nearby fence.

Three engines were sent to the scene in Queensway, in Lydd, on Romney Marsh at 1.45pm this afternoon after the fire started in a bin in an alley.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using hose reel jets.

No injuries were reported, and crews left at 2.37pm.

It’s believed the fire started in an alleyway waste bin and spread to nearby gardens, but firefighters say the exact cause is unknown.
