B2075 in Lydd on Romney Marsh reopened after fire crews extinguish boat alight on trailer

A road which had been closed as fire crews battled a blaze on a boat on a trailer, has now been reopened.

The fire service says the B2075 in Lydd on Romney Marsh is operational once again after firefighters made the area secure.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene just after 5pm on Wednesday alongside the police.

A spokesperson said: “The earlier advice to avoid the B2075 in Lydd has been lifted, and the scene has been made safe.”

There are no reports of anyone being injured in the fire.

Police have also been contacted for comment.
