BBC Antiques Roadshow to film at Ightham Mote, near Borough Green, in 2016

As it enters its 39th year of production, one of the most watched factual shows on the BBC will film in Kent.

The current series of Antiques Roadshow has an average of six million viewers every Sunday, and the show today released its list of filming locations for 2016.

The show, hosted by Fiona Bruce since 2008, will cover the country from the banks of the River Clyde to the coast of Cornwall, stopping at Ightham Mote, near Borough Green, in the process.

The Mote is a unique building, which displays a range of architecture to the public, and this year celebrated its 30th anniversary of being in the care of the National Trust

The Trust invested £10m for a building renovation, which took around 20 years to complete.

On Thursday, June 16, the medieval manor house will welcome film crews and the public to its grounds.

A number of familar faces, in the form of a team of antiques and fine arts experts, will be on hand to take a look at some of your hidden treasures.

Fiona Bruce, presenter of Antiques Roadshow, said: "The best part of working on Antiques Roadshow is that we never know who or what is going to turn up on the day.

"The visitors, the objects they bring, their stories and the location all combine to make a fabulous experience that we aim to capture for the viewers."

Simon Shaw, executive producer, said: "The filming venues for 2016 are some of our most beautiful and historic yet.

"We will be covering the country, visiting spectacular locations, unearthing treasures and welcoming thousands of visitors for a great, free day out."

Anyone is welcome to bring anything along to an Antiques Roadshow filming day, with no pre-registration, tickets or appointments required.
