Arrests in Sevenoaks after 2 men 'caught red-handed loading generator onto stolen van'

Two men have been arrested after allegedly being caught "red-handed" stealing a generator.

Officers from Swanley witnessed the men as they loaded the machine into a van that was stolen.

Police who tweeted pictures of the incident say the stolen van was also being driven with false number plates.

Police in Sevenoaks tweeted: "PC’s Mike & Charlie from #Swanley #CPT have arrested 2 men from #London after catching them #redhanded stealing this generator and load it onto the stolen van that they were driving on false plates.

"Thanks to @MPSBromley and @MPSBexley for their help #proactivepolicing #custody"

Police have been approached for comment.
