Designs for Bat and Ball centre in Sevenoaks shown at exhibition

Five designs - which could be the future of Bat and Ball centre in Sevenoaks - have been revealed.

Last year over 70 companies were invited to enter a competition to design a new community centre and council complex.

The competition, which was commissioned by Sevenoaks Town Council, has returned five firms as finalists.

The redevelopment of the Sevenoaks Community Centre site in Cramptons Road was identified as a priority by the town council, which will be based inside the new stucture.

Teams have been instructed by the council that construction costs would need to stay between a £1.8 and £2.5 million budget.

Members of the public are now being invited to a physical exhibition of conceptual designs at the community centre in Cramptons Road between 2pm and 8pm today and 10am to 1pm tomorrow.

Attendees will be asked to provide feedback and the five proposals, which will be shown anonymously.

A final decision will be made by a panel of judges and publically announced on June 8.

The five teams shortlisted were:

  • dRMM, de Rijke Marsh Morgan Architects, London
  • Ian McChesney Ltd, London
  • Theis and Khan Architects, Kent
  • Tim Ronalds Architects, London
  • White Arkitekter AB, Sweden

All five were selected by the Royal Institute of British Architects in December 2014.
