Sevenoaks District Council launches new parking app showing available spaces across the district

People visiting Sevenoaks by car can now download a free parking app and receive live parking space availability on the go.

Launched by Sevenoaks District Council, the new service provides current parking spaces available in the council's parks as well as the Waitrose and the M&S ones at the touch of a button.

For visitors not familiar with the location of some parking, the app provides navigation using the mobile device's in built GPS functionality and web access.

It also links to the Parkmobile service allowing visitors to pay via their phones.

Cllr Roddy Hogarth, the council’s cabinet member for parking said: "This app will improve the parking experience for the many shoppers and visitors who drive into Sevenoaks.

"The app and the signs provide real-time information about the availability of spaces saving drivers time and effort trying to find a space. With the busy Christmas period just around the corner, the timing could not have been better for the town’s businesses."

The app is available for free from Apple iTunes and Google Play for Android by searching for the term 'Sevenoaks Parking' or by visiting www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/apps.
