Wrotham Festival of Light hosted by Cohesion Plus returns next week

A free community celebration is returning to a village next week.

A festival of lights featuring live performances and fireworks will be held in Wrotham, Sevenoaks on Friday, October 13.

The event hosted by Arts organisation, Cohesion Plus will begin at 6pm outside St George’s Church.

Entertainment will kick off the night with performances from music and dance group Folks in Fusion and Samba Reggae drumming band, Bloco Fogo.

Food and hot drinks will also be served.

A lantern parade will follow featuring songs, lights and pupils from St George’s CE Primary School.

The route move up from the church to Old London Road, into Pilgrims Way and finish at the cricket ground.

Phoenix Fireworks will close the evening with a colourful show in the sky at 7pm.

Artistic Director of Cohesion Plus, Gurvinder Sandher said: “It is important for us to take culturally diverse arts and culture into rural areas.

“The Wrotham Festival of Light is a great example of this and helps us embed the Arts Councils Lets Create initiative into our work.”
