Halstead burglary: Man charged with five offences after pensioners allegedly had boiling water poured on them

A man has been charged with five offences after two pensioners were left with life-changing injuries following a brutal raid on their home.

The couple were allegedly tied up and doused with boiling water during the burglary in London Road, Halstead, near Sevenoaks, in April.

Daniel Wallace, 32 and of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody after being charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm, two counts of false imprisonment and aggravated burglary.

He was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday and will appear at Medway Magistrates Court today.

A 33-year-old man from Ilford and a 29-year-old man of no fixed address have also been arrested in connection with the incident.

They have been bailed, pending further inquiries, until Thursday, September 15.
