Rescue crews release man trapped in flipped car on A21, between A25 and B245

A man has been taken to hospital after he was set free from an overturned car.

One lane is still closed following the accident heading coastbound on the A21 between the junctions with the A25 and B245.

Two fire engines attended and crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the man.

The collision, at 1.35pm, left a "large amount of damage to a fence" according to Highways England.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman added: "The patient was fully conscious but nevertheless required treatment for facial injuries, cuts and bruises."

The man been taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for further treatment.

A police spokesman said: "The coastbound carriageway was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident."

Both lanes have now reopened.
