Sevenoaks vehicle fire suspect tries to use social distancing rules to avoid arrest

Social distancing is being encouraged to help combat the spread of coronavirus but, unfortunately for some, this doesn't apply to arrests.

One man found this out the hard way when he tried to use the two-metre rule to keep police at bay after being tracked in relation to a vehicle fire near Sevenoaks.

Kent Police tweeted this morning how a vehicle had been pursed by officers, who lost it, but then soon received reports of a road traffic accident where a vehicle had been set alight.

Police dog, PD Parker, arrived on the scene and tracked two males. One tried to social distance but "Parker advised him it wasn't the time".

Kent Police have been contacted for further information.
