John Mongan, 36, of west London, and Nicholas Ghent, 30, of south London, were arrested in Essex later the same day.

Both men were charged with burglary and appeared at Medway Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

They were bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on January 15.

Ghent has also been charged over two other burglaries, which took place in south London in November.

Police are reminding residents to protect against burglaries, by taking steps such as using timers on lights and radios so homes look occupied, and locking away tools that could be used to break into homes.
