The road was shut northbound between the A225 at Morleys Roundabout and the A25 for Sevenoaks.

National Highways confirmed its traffic officers were also at the scene and vehicle recovery had been organised.

It adds there was a large fuel spillage to clear. Delays of up to 45 minutes were reported.

The road was then closed overnight to allow emergency barrier repairs to take place as a result of the crash.

Traffic was being diverted along the A225, A224 and A25, to rejoin the A21 near Chipstead.

It reopened at around 4am today (May 7).

Police were not called due to Highways officers dealing with the incident.

The ambulance and fire service have been asked for more information.
