Sevenoaks residents urged to take part in this year's In Bloom competition

Green fingered residents are being encouraged to spring into action to ensure their entries are received for this year’s In Bloom competition.

Sevenoaks District Council has teamed up with Coolings Nurseries in Knockholt to run the popular gardening contest with the deadline being next Tuesday.

The competition gives residents, businesses and community groups the chance to show how their gardening skills have blossomed, making the district a greener, brighter place to live.

It’s open to novice and expert green fingered gardeners and residents can enter no matter if they have a small or large garden, space on an allotment or even just a window box or pot.

Entering is free and anyone who takes part will receive a £5 voucher to spend at Coolings Nurseries which is limited to one per entrant.

Ten categories are available and residents can enter as many as they wish. Coolings Nurseries vouchers will be awarded to the winners with £25 going to the top spot in each category, £10 to second place and £5 to third position.

Judging will take place in July and August and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Coolings in October.
