The M25 turn-off for Sevenoaks and Orpington blocked due to three-way car crash

Injuries have been reported following a serious multi-vehicle crash.

A turn-off on the M25 was closed westbound between the M25 at J4 and the A224 (Orpington) due to the collision this morning.

One vehicle struck the barrier and overturned.

National Highways reported ‘serious injuries’ at the scene, and all emergency services were in attendance.

A National Highways statement said: “Kent Police currently lead the response to a serious multiple vehicle collision which occurred at approximately 9am this morning.

“One involved vehicle has struck the barrier and come to rest in an overturned position. Serious injuries have been confirmed at scene all the emergency services have been in attendance.

“Recovery is now underway and the carriageway remains closed to allow this work to take place safely at the scene.”

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.58am today to a report of a collision involving three vehicles on the M25 at junction four. One person is reported to have sustained injuries.

“Lane closures are in place while the incident is attended to and officers remain at the scene along with other emergency services.”

The road was cleared by 5.20pm.
