Appeal to catch thief who robbed security guard outside One Stop store in Sevenoaks Road, Otford

Police are hunting a robber who threatened a security guard outside a village shop this morning and made off with a cash box.

It happened at 11.23am in Sevenoaks Road, Otford, as a Loomis security van and staff were visiting a One Stop convenience store.

The robber fled on foot with a money box down an alleyway at the side of the shop. He may have got away in a black Ford Fiesta with an 05 plate.

The offender is described as white, about 20-years-old, 5ft 10 in to 6ft tall and of a slim, athletic build. He was wearing a black cap and a dark coat and his face was covered, possibly by his cap.

Det Sgt Richard Pringle is keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident take place or who may have seen a man loitering in the area in the days leading up to the robbery.

He added: "We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a black Ford Fiesta with an 05 plate in the area."

The victim was shaken but not injured.
