A five-year-old boy has been dubbed a lifesaver after he called for help, put his mum into the recovery position and gave her vital glucose after she slipped into a coma.
Kayleigh Dickinson, 32, blacked out and lost consciousness in the living room of her Sheerness home due to low blood sugar levels.
Her son leapt to his diabetic mum's aid and raised the alarm as she lay helpless.
The brave schoolboy kept calm and moved his mum into the recovery position, dialled 999, called his dad at work and also found the number to alert his grandparents, who live in Sittingbourne.
Hearing that “mummy was not very well, sleeping on the floor and that he could not wake her”, grandmother Heidi Dickinson, 53, raced to her daughter's home to find police and paramedics helping Kayleigh.
Speaking after her daughter came round, Heidi dubbed her grandson's actions "amazing", labelling him a lifesaver.
She said: "He deserves the biggest gold medal you could possibly find, but if you put it around his neck he would probably fall over because he is so small.”
“He saved our daughter's life and you can’t thank someone enough for that, but we are so proud of our grandson.”
“He has never been trained to do what he did, he just knows that because his mum suffers from diabetes, what to do if she is feeling unwell.”
But Morgan's heroic actions are not the first time he has been called upon to rescue his mum when she has fallen ill.
Kayleigh said: “He also had to phone nanny and granddad when he was two because I had a bad reaction to the insulin I was taking, so he remembered what to do three years on, but this was much more serious.
“He also gave me my glucose syrup to try and bring my sugar levels up, which he had managed to locate out of the fridge.
“It’s always been kept in the top shelf of the door and that’s exactly where he went to get it.
"He squirted some into my mouth while I was unconscious.
“I could not thank him enough for what he has done, it could have been a whole lot worse. He’s saved my life and I will forever be in his debt for that" -Morgan's mum Kayleigh
“By the time the paramedics had arrived I was starting to recover from being given it.
“When I found out what he did it reduced me to tears, I’m so proud of him, things could have been a lot worse had he not known what to do.”
The mum of two added that watching TV hospital dramas with her son could also have helped Morgan make the right call.
“On Sundays me and Morgan usually watch the week’s worth of Casualty, so it is quite possible he has picked up some things from watching TV shows.
“I could not thank him enough for what he has done, it could have been a whole lot worse. He’s saved my life and I will forever be in his debt for that.”
Shy Morgan has not had too much to say since all the attention, but did admit telling his friends about the dramatic events at school during show and tell.
Proudly clutching a ‘gold trophy’ certificate awarded to him for his quick thinking and brave actions he said: “I was not frightened, I just knew I needed to get someone to help mummy, so I called daddy, nanny and granddad and a few other people.
“I’m glad mummy is better now.”
