Although there are no reported injures, the crash has resulted in an oil spillage which has caused police to close the road in both directions between the B2007 Whiteway Road (Queenborough) and the A250 Bridge Road (Sheerness).

The incident is adding to the misery for commuters who are already facing delays on the M20.

Earlier this morning a vehicle broke down on the London-bound carriageway at J5 (Aylesford) and queues several miles long soon built up.

The vehicle has now been recovered and all lanes re-opened, but residual delays remain.
