There are reports the air ambulance landed at the scene.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “We were called at 6.51pm to a road crash on the northbound carriageway.

“Crews assisted other emergency services at the scene.

“Our operations were complete at 8.04pm.”

The road was closed in both directions as roadworks on the Maidstone-bound carriageway began on Friday, but reopened at around 5.50am.

More on this as we have it.
